Usually if the font face/style does not look like it normally does for your other books. Also, if you use Calibre, it looks like it shows the format as "AZW1" while non-Topaz books are just "AZW", but I'm not sure if that's reliable or not.

In my copy, the chapter titles all have a very distinctive font face, which I don't think a non-Topaz book could have -- unless they used an image instead of text.

don't use caliber. and no, the first letters of the chapters aren't the funky lettering they were in the print book.

Just a follow-up, Amazon refunded the $6.39 I paid for my original copy and removed it from my archive. The bad news is that I now have to spend an additional $2.70 for the new version. But at least it's not costing me $9.99 to update it.

One of my favorite books of all time, good to know it's back.  I'm sure my paperback will need replacing after a couple more rereads.
