Hi, everyone,

I read my K3 intermittently throughout the day, usually only getting to read <5 minutes before putting it back to the screen saver.  Today I picked it up after a few hours and the green power button light was shining, even though I hadn't touched it.

Has anyone seen this before?  If so, was it indicative of anything terrible, like a K3's impending demise?

Also, the power button has been sticking a bit lately, and I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Thanks for your help,

Liz

Thanks.  I'm glad this isn't a known sign of the Kindlepocalypse.

If mine does indeed die, I'll be sure to update this thread and let everyone know that the green light is as deadly as the one on the end of Daisy Buchanan's dock.  (Apologies if it's still too early in the day for Gatsby references.)

I gave my original K3 away and got a new one.  It had the sticky button also.  Along with the sticky button was a bit of a battery drain problem.  The button seems to be much better and I havent noticed any quick drain on the battery recently.

I am embarrassed to admit because I have been an advocate of "the refurbs are just as good as new", but the reason I gave my original K3 away is because I was on my 3rd refurb replacement and they just seemed to be getting worse.  I mention this because it is the reason I have put up with the sticky button and battery drain when otherwise I would not have.

A little bit of silicon lubricant (or multi-use Teflon) applied by a second Q-Tip will probably resolve the issue for quite some time.

Fish stick oil may work, too, if you happen to have some on hand . . .
