Hi everyone!
I've been lurking this forum for about four days now, particularly because I'm obsessed with everything Kindle right now!
I was really shy to join and start posting because I'm not much of a forum person (flaming really scares me!), but everyone seems to be pretty nice on here.
Anyways, I purchased my refurb on eBay just a couple of days ago and I'm patiently waiting for it now. The scary thing is, I don't even have a tracking number for my package. The seller initially told me that USPS International Priority Mail does come with tracking, but then when he shipped it he found out from the post office that it doesn't. He says that he has never had problems with shipping though, which is good. The seller also has 100% positive feedback. The thing is, now I really feel helpless! My kindle is supposed to arrive by December 15 or 16, but I don't want to get my hopes up, so I'm expecting it to come by the 20th. Postal system here in the Philippines is really disorganized.
I bought my refurb on eBay for a bit more than the retail price on Amazon. Ordinary people who don't understand what it's like to be put on a 2.5-month waiting list would call me crazy, but, for me, it was my only option! I originally asked my sister who is in the States to order it for me, but then Amazon was giving me a hard time about using her credit card on my account. This, coupled with the fact that I really didn't want to wait until Feb to get my Kindle, really pushed me to just order one on eBay - even if it did cost more. I hope people here will understand where I'm coming from!
I'm so excited about getting my Kindle! I know I won't get to make use of Whispernet while I'm here in the Philippines, but I'll be heading back to the States in June. I'll take advantage of it there.
Glad to have found this place! Feels like home!
