Oh, I'm sorry, Simone! But you're right - laugh, forget and move forward without looking back!

Easy to relate to, Simone, believe me.
Am not slamming BB here, because I have yet
to be accepted by them, but have had similar results
elsewhere.

The lesson here is: spending big bucks on ads does not
always guarantee anything. So far, I've never been
disappointed with Bknights (when it comes to running
one of their ads for a free book.)

All I can say is it gets easier with time. Love your covers.

Simone, how do you do that? Can you pls teach me?  :p I really should focus on the love of writing again. It was so much fun when marketing wasn't involved!!!  ;D

Great advice in the thread title.  Hugs and jelly beans all around.

As a reader...

I have quite a few books (especially from kboarders now) in my kindle and I can only read them one at a time.  However if I see something that looks interesting, say an intriguing blurb or a concept that sounds unique, I'll download it especially if it's free or in KU.  Then slowly I work my way through the virtual stack.  If I find something that I really enjoyed then I'll read that author's backlist pretty much all at once.  When I found one of my favorite sci-fi author's I read all 8 books in a row.

I think you may see a bump later on as people get to your backlist.

Best of luck!
SM
