Nico, to get a better understanding of this holiday, read about the Irish contribution to this country. Start with the civil war and all the Irish soldiers who died here. What about the great writers and poets, one of my favorites, Robert Frost. Have you read "Angela's Ashes" by Frank McCourt? Read about and listen to their music and watch their dances, and read about their struggles as a people throughout history.
