I’ve had my Kindle for about 3 months and have been lurking on this
board for quite a while.  Thought it was time I stepped up and said hello
and thank you to all of you for your informative and friendly posts.  I’ve
gotten some great ideas from these boards.  For example, I first learned
about Decal Girl’s skins here, and now my kindle is quite lovely in her Van Gogh’s
Irises.  She’s still waiting patiently for me to decide which Oberon cover to buy.

I used to lug around several books at a time, but love, love, love the fact
the I can carry a whole library around with me.  And my Kindle is always
with me no matter where I go.  You know how you feel naked
when you leave your cell phone at home?  Well, that’s how I am about
my Kindle now!  Here in the wilds of NJ, you never know when you’ll
be stuck in traffic or a long line at the grocery store.  I almost don’t mind
the wait when I can pull my Kindle out of my purse and immerse myself,
even for a few minutes, in a great book.

I’m an avid reader of just about everything.  My latest favorites have been
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and
Annie Barrows, The Charlemagne Pursuit by Steve Berry, and The Last
Oracle by James Rollins.  I just started reading The Mental Floss History
of the World by Eric Sass and Steve Wiegand.  I love Mental Floss and
am a long time subscriber to their magazine.

Anyway, nice to meet all of you.  And thanks again for being here when
I was a fledgling Kindle owner.

Best,
Sue

(PS The cutie in the picture is my furkid, Kendra)

I'm about half way through this book. Noticing a lot of formatting errors. Mostly words run together or spaces where they shouldn't be. Did you notice this as well? I haven't seen a lot of errors in other Kindle books. This is quite noticeable.

Oh and welcome to the boards. A helpful and friendly group for sure.

Hi, Sue & Kendra -

Welcome aboard!  This is a great place to learn about all things Kindle and discovering books you never knew about.

You must  ;)  post your Oberon cover over in Accessories when you get so everyone can join in on the "ooohs" and "ahhhs" of that great product.

Feel free to post your favorite finds in the Book Corner,

Marci

Brian -

Yes, I had the same formatting issues, the first I've encountered in a kindle book.
It didn't detract from my reading too much, but all the same, I think I read somewhere
(probably on these boards) that there's a way to let Amazon know if there are problems.
I'm going to see if I can figure it out.

Thanks for the welcome,
Sue

If you go to the book's page at amazon, and go all the way down to the bottom (past the reviews) there is a box for feedback. Click on the link for "is there anything else would like to tell us?" and provide the information on the bad formatting. That documents, in writing, the issue with the book and makes it easier for Amazon to follow up with the publisher.

Thanks Leslie. I knew I'd seen something about this. Am heading over to Amazon
to give them feedback.

Hi Sue and Kendra - Give Kendra a hug from my furkids.  I'll post a picture of them when I can get them to be still or quit trying to eat the camera.  Lurkdom is fine, but it is so much more fun to be posting, glad you have joined us.  Like your reading suggestions.  I like Steve Berry as well so glad to have feed back.

Welcome
