I just joined the Kindle Boards after seeing them recommended a few times on author blogs, and really, what better way to avoid doing my tax return today?
I'm from the Central Coast, Australia (just north of Sydney). I've been a professional visual artist for years now, and I just published my first book this week. It's felt like my whole life has revolved around this book for months, and now it's done and out there I'm almost at a loose end as to what to do with myself. And doing my tax return still isn't appealing...
The only other author/writing/reading community I've been part of is the Online Writers Workshop which was great while I was revising and editing, but I've been looking for a new hang out to meet other authors, indies, and readers. I hope this is it!
I'd really love to make a few more Beta-Buddies for reviewing each others upcoming books, so if there are any other YA market writers out there, particularly in the fantasy genre, who are interested, let me know!

Thanks for the warm welcome, or not so warm for us in Aus right now, brrr! It's freezing and damp here too.

Hi Selina!  If the Aussies and the Canadians got together to rule the world, it would probably be a better place :)

Welcome to the Kindle boards!

Thanks! I just revised my kindle version of my book so that it also includes the illustrations (before just the paper versions did).
