My name is Dennis. I live in the People's Republic of Texas (this how Texans sometimes refer to their state .

I got my Kindle 2 a couple of weeks ago and love it!

I like academic reading and currently selling some of my (text)books to get Kindle versions.

I think the Kindle is fantastic for textbooks. You've got the ability to make notes and highlight passages right at your fingertips. Not to mention you're saving your back by not having to carry around a bunch of heavy books. Jeez, that reminds me of my school days. Textbooks were evil because we didn't have lockers. Urgh!

Hope you stick around. I'm pretty new here myself, but I've discovered this is a great community. Some great people here, and very helpful.
