I am currently reading The Treasure of La Malinche Volume 2, and my husband is currently reading Gone for a Soldier. These are EXCELLENT books and I HIGHLY recommend them.Jeff said:
These two books are not really historical fiction so I had removed them from the original post. However, rather than starting a new thread to an already glutted topic I'm adding them back. Yes, I know, I tend to wake up in a different world every day.
I used Windows Movie Maker and fumbled my way through it.callingcrow said:What program did you use? Any suggestions for me?
Thank you, Beth. I'm very pleased that you and your husband like them.Beth A said:I am currently reading The Treasure of La Malinche Volume 2, and my husband is currently reading Gone for a Soldier. These are EXCELLENT books and I HIGHLY recommend them.
Thank you, Dona. If you'd like to read proof-read and/or edit the pre-release of The Land of the Free in MS Word format, please contact me by PM or email. It's the sequel to Gone For a Soldier, is currently about 300 pages and is pretty well fleshed out but infested with typos.Anju No. 469 said:One of my favorite authors and wonderful hang in there until all hours of the night books! I let some negative people get me down for a while and I stopped posting but I didn't stop writing. I sincerely appreciate your support and that of many others that I've been fortunate to meet here on KindleBoards.geoffthomas said:It is good to see posts about your work again.
I'd certainly welcome your help, Geoff. Please send me the email address that you have associated with your Windows ID (Passport) and I'll add you to the editing team. If you'd rather have a Kindle version instead of the Word documents, just send me a PM and I'll compile one for you.geoffthomas said:I anxiously await the new books.
And would be happy to help in any way possible.
I had no idea you were working on so much. Very ambitious. I'll look forward to them all.Jeff said:Thank you, Dona. The first draft of Home of the Brave, which is the next in the series, is almost finished. It should be ready for beta readers in about two weeks. These two books tie Gone For a Soldier to The Treasure of La Malinche.
There are three more books planned to complete the series. The prequel to The Treasure of La Malinche, called Lonely is the Soldier, is about half written. I'll finish it before jumping back to the Civil War with Johnny Comes Marching Home. The last book, tentatively titled, Don't sit Under the Apple Tree is probably at least a year away.
