How Best to Migrate Titles from D2D/KDP to New Accounts?

Basically, I want to migrate a series of books I published for another author to accounts under his control. I don't want to lose the reviews, however. What's the best way to go about this? Everything is published in paperback on Amazon, so that should be straightforward. Just unpublish, then republish on the new account and link to the existing paperback. On D2D, however, I'm a little less clear. While it's not a huge problem if all the reviews for the books disappear, I'd prefer to keep them and maintain continuity.

Also, I'd like to avoid going through a copyright check morass on KDP if possible, although this might be inevitable.

Any tips or suggestions to make this transition as smooth as possible are greatly appreciated.

ETA: I do have two box sets that are eBook only on Amazon that I'd like to migrate over. Without the paperback, what's the best way of doing that and keeping the reviews intact?

To retain reviews, you need to email the various sales platforms. If D2D, you need to email them to ask them if they can email the sales platforms to retain the reviews. You can sense the level of complexity and bureaucracy increasing in that last sentence. Will it actually happen? Who knows? Will D2D get a reply? Who knows.

Some platforms may do it, others won't. If it's a different account, I suspect more of them would be in the "no" category than if you migrated from one book to a new edition with a different author name under the same account.

But you can try. You have to do this through customer support, though.
