Maybe a silly question but genuinely don't know!

That won't work unless they've authorized YOUR email address as one their kindle can receive from.Kenneth Rosenberg said:I don't know if there is a way to do that. I just e-mail copies to people. You can mail it straight to someone's Kindle if you get their Kindle e-mail address. That is their Kindle username like this: username@kindle.com. If you send it as a Mobi or PRC it will go right through. If you send a Word doc or PDF you need to write "convert" in the subject line. Sometimes the conversions can be a little wonky with the page breaks, etc., but usually not too bad.
You need an email address for them. It should NOT be their kindle's email address, and does not have to be the email address attached to their Amazon account.giantpasta said:Cool! When using .com to gift do I need to give the recipient's kindle e-mail address or just the one that their Amazon account is associated with?
No. But you can send them a mobi file to their email and they can load it however they want.James Bruno said:This has always confused me. So, if I understand this correctly, you can't simply send a mobi file to the recipient's Kindle? And therefore the only way to gift is to actually buy your own book at the regular price and "gift" it using the "gift" icon?
