Does anyone know how (or even if) KDP handles soft returns in a document?  I wrote some stuff elsewhere and then copy/pasted it into Word, and many of the paragraphs are separated by soft returns rather than hard paragraph returns (inverted P).  The soft return looks like a right-angle arrow pointing left, similar to the one below.  (Sorry, I don't know how to paste a pic of the real symbol here.)

Anyway, I was wondering if I'll need to somehow do a wholesale search-and-replace to switch it to a regular paragraph break, or if KDP can deal with it as it is.

So that's what that symbol is called. I see one occasionally in my docs but don't know how they get there. I always change them when I see them. I don't know how KDP deals with them, though.
