I used to just use the corner light in my cover. Then my toddler got to it! Ouch. Bye-bye cover with fancy corner light. Hello big font?!

Did you contact Kindle Customer Support? It might be worth it. I wouldn't expect them to replace the cover free of charge, but they might offer a discount. Certainly doesn't hurt to ask.

I too would've never thought to increase the size like that. That's a great idea.

I DO increase the font size whenever I get my pupils dilated. I can read all the way up until they call me.
