I just read this book in one day, it was super good. I must say this book is probably in the top 5 of books I've read this year. I really recommend it if you are looking for a good suspense book. I'm not the author, don't know her, not related to her or anything. This is just a GOOD book and I wanted to let everybody know :)

Thanks for sharing.  I read the reviews and isn't it just crazy how so many people loved it and yet there were those that hated it.

Always amazes me.  That's why I LOVE Amazon...SAMPLES!!  I hope I enjoy it as much as you did.

Things that people love are apt to inspire strong reactions, and some of them will be negative.  I would be surprised it nobody hated it.

Downloaded this one last night looking for something "different" to read (I've been reading a LOT of urban fantasy lately and needed a change)- WOW
I stayed up WAY too late reading it from start to finish, and then I could NOT sleep!  Every noise in my house scared the heck out of me......  It was a really interesting read, and I enjoyed the "perspective" and the way the story was told- not my favorite ending, but I did get totally caught up in this one- thanks Patricia for recommendation!

Interesting posts. I followed the media storm when this was published as I was convinced that it was a self-fulfilling prophecy in that you can make a book "commercial" (even when it contains a lot of strong adult scenes), simply by generating enough pre-publication publicity. But this was deemed by many to be "torture-porn" (http://www.spinetinglermag.com/2010/03/31/the-new-six-figure-torture-porn-industry/)

I wrote a short blog post on this way back (I coudn't understand how this could be commercial and my own similar novel deemed "not commercial") and have another longer blog post due out in a couple of weeks. Personally I couldn't see what the fuss was about - it was strong and dark yes, but not gratuitous in any way. I enjoyed it.

This is a great novel - I bought only because the woman who edited my novel, CONSUMPTION had worked on Still Missing and I was interested to compare and contrast novels.  Whilst they are different novels, it was great to see that the actual quality of the writing in Still Missing was great - Chevy has a new one out now that I've not read as it's not available in Kindle yet.

Well worth a read and very haunting.
