We all love to read
We love words.
We all like each other
We're a family
We sort of know who's who on the boards.
We could pair up with each other and play in teams
We wouldn't have to be worried about jerky members (the scrabble sites are loaded with fools...I've played most of them) who quit in the middle of a game or try to cheat, or try to chat dirty...etc.

OK...well, it was just a thought....Kindle and Scrabble are so closely related.

I opened a licensed Official Scrabble Club in 1983 here in Springfield, MA. I met wonderful people at the clubs and tournaments. When my husband became ill in 1998 I shut down the club. I still meet and play with friends but right now instead of playing live Scrabble as in Lexulous and WordBiz I play email Scrabble with four people. A guy in New Zealand, a guy in England, a Scrabble player here in MA and a Scrabble friend in Connecticut. I would like to see the most up to date Scrabble dictionary be offered on Kindle.

My name is unusual and I had this custom Scrabble board made for me a couple of years ago.

Avalon3: We love Scrabble; used to play on a couple of the sites but the people were a bit raunchy and rude...plus there was no timer and they would take 20 minute turns...many quitters too. My poor daughter would be playing and winning and when they found out how young she was they would quit.
She was in the New England Scrabble competition and placed 4th back in middle school. We play every time she comes home from college. We have a special scrabble score pad which we started at least 12 years ago or more: We write where we are and the date...you can't imagine the places and people we have played. We have played with people from New Zealand and Australia, while in Michigan for Future Problem Solvers. We've played on vacations at stock car races...hospitals, planes, dorms, hotels, beaches, casinos... It's fun to keep track and to go down memory lane when we look back in the book.

I have a handheld electronic scrabble so I can play against the game itself or up to 3 additional real or imaginary players...it's called Scrabble Express. No longer available but is on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Hasbro-Handheld-Scrabble-Express-Electronic-Game_W0QQitemZ350138950490QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item350138950490&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A0|293%3A1|294%3A50

No one ever wants to play. My son hates it. My husband annoys me; takes too long--I have to keep saying, your turn, your turn. Mom's mind isn't with her these days to play a good game and my favorite player on the planet (Mom's best friend) moved to Florida.

I play on the following (but there is no dictionary so you have to play on your honor because it accepts "non-words"): http://web.ukonline.co.uk/g.pearson/scrabble/scrabble.htm

Thanks! That board is a turntable board. Recently a Scrabble friend of mine got a Scrabble board with the logo from LL Bean.

Another Scrabble friend of mine made this animated rack with my name.

I removed the cardboard grid on my travel scrabble and painted the backside of the plastic grid so that the beach sand wouldn't get between the cardboard layout and the plastic grid.  Someday I'll take a pic and post it.  Kind of neat.

I also made a magnetic scrabble that you can actually tip upside-down and shake and the letters won't move; made that one for long road trips...because even with the raised grid; one bump and it's all over.

Here's a link to a lady that makes animated Scrabble rack signatures. Her price is a little high.

Can we make it battle scrabble?  All of the letters get weapons based on their score number.  Let the battle begin!

Or even a book of crosswords ;)  With answers of course in a separate section ;)

Actually, I don't know that there isn't.  Will have to go look and see.

Here is a picture of the box that I found on eBay. It is in much better shape than my box!!

Probe is a 1960's word game from Parker Brothers. You have four players and it is kinda like Hangman. It is a 4 player game where each player thinks of a word and each person takes turns guessing letters to reveal the word. Dictionaries are used only to settle disputes over word spellings. In the 70's the game pieces were as changed up a bit. I have one of the original 1960 versions.

I would like to mention a great card game called Quiddler. Sort of a really portable Scrabble...

They also have an online version, the game changes daily.

Quidler: I have heard of before

Probe:  Angela can the words be any words or do they have to be in a certain category?  Any special amount of letters?
