I'm mad as heck, and I'm not going to take it anymore!!

I've been trying for two days to upload a new book cover on Pubit/b&n. I keep getting the technical difficulties message . . . after it uploads. AND, I still have a book that has been "processing" since the end of September. (I did upload that again and it went live in two days, but the original is out there still processing.)

So, I found several executives' emails on the internet and sent them a polite message about what's going on. I sent five . . . two wouldn't go through . . . but, hopefully, the three that did go through will have some effect. It couldn't hurt!

I included this in the email:

I'll keep you posted.

i was getting that over the holidays and gave up, waiting for post-holiday. uploaded a new cover two days ago. same thing, but somehow it eventually processed. same day, but i don't know how it happened. i use safari and the site is always glitchy. i wonder if it's wired for IE.
G
Jerri - I'm having the same problem. Please let us know if you get a response.
Hmm. I used Draft2Digital and uploaded one this afternoon. 5 hours later, the book was on bn.com. Phenomenal. I won't be fighting with uploading to anything on my own but Kindle platform again at this point now that I've found this service. So much less headache.
I ranted about this just a couple days ago, Jerri. I was getting that error message, too -- over and over and over. In fact, I never didn't get it. I tried with Explorer and Chrome, so it's not a browser thing.

As it turned out, though, PubIt! was saving everything despite the error messages. It took some tweaking (with more error messages) once the book came out of processing to get the metadata to show up right, and I too ended up with the book listed twice, but in the end it did work. I just set one of the two  book listings not to be on sale ... there's nothing you can do to get rid of it, apparently.

But the book is live on B&N, now, and I'm satisfied with the book page's appearance, so in the end, PubIt! came through.

It's sort of like one of those friends who will help you in a pinch but will gripe and moan about it the whole time. ;)

Good luck!

D2D is awesome -- just a great platform supported by smart and responsive people. But you do pay 15% for the convenience.
Thread subject line gives me the giggles! (srsly, I hope problem is resolved, of course.)

This isn't a formatting problem. The one file that's still processing was re-uploaded and the second one (duplicate of first) went live in two days. Also, the problem I'm having now is changing the cover.

You're probably too young to remember the movie that it's from! I can't even remember the name of it, but I can still picture the actor leaning out the second story window and shouting it out with a street full of people below.

It's from Network. Peter Finch won an Oscar for that role.

Now get off my lawn. ;)

Network! Yeah, that's it! Thanks!
A bunch of us posted about this in December. Here were my experiences/results:

"On the 17th I uploaded the 4th book in my series and got that red banner but it said "processing" in the "My Titles" tab so I waited. Three days later, I tried again with the same results and sent a complaint. Checked the Pubit! message boards, found others with the same problem, some waiting anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months, so I wait. Tried again twice in as many days through different servers until I had 4 of the same title processing. Sent another complaint. Then I went to B&N.com to see if my paperback had populated onto the site and BOOM the ebook was live on the site and there were 4 different versions to buy from and yes, all 4 were still processing. On the 24th everything went live and I was able to take down 3 of the 4 titles. Oh and I got an email from customer service to let me know my ebook was live on the 26th"

I've made about ten changes in the last month, got that red message every time, but everything went through anyway.

It's like they left that message up to cover their butts, but it isn't actually true...

Or maybe they love me more.  :-*

I think they must love you more, because I've uploaded the cover a dozen times and it hasn't changed . . .

:(
I tired to load an updated version of one of my books several times between yesterday and today and got that message.  I finally see that it has changed and the correct one is up.  So, it did "take" but the message still came up.
I'm getting the message and it's not taking.  I even tried re-uploading the old book cover . . . thinking maybe it was my new formatting that it was rejecting.  But, alas, it wouldn't even take the old cover.

And none of the bigwigs have answered my email yet.  But, I'm still hoping.
