Any general ideas on current times between pressing publish and going live? How long is a piece of string, I know.
I want my book to go out on Thursday 26th, so am thinking to publish late on Tuesday evening? Can't be definite, but does that sound about right to you? I don't want to be late, but then I don't want to be especially early either.
What I really want is an option on KDP to set a book up and set a go live date without pre-order. ;)

Wow, that's faster than I thought. Good point about erotic stuff though Cora, that's slowed me up before now.
I'm on the fence with pre-orders Adam, I'm not certain they're helpful in terms of release day boosting? I know what you mean though.
I had a rocky time health wise last year and didn't release anything, things have moved on such a lot. Feels like starting again.

Blimey. I think I might be better to hold off until Wednesday for the upload if they're this quick now. Thanks Carina. x

I published a book last night, and it was done by this morning. It's actually a bit of a pain; because all the sites I submitted to said 72 hours, I assumed they'd all be 72 hours. Now it's still in a queue for iTunes, Nook and Kobo but live on Amazon and elsewhere.

I don't know how people manage to do launch days!  :p
