Introducing: Professor Kompressor. An excellent, but accident prone, inventor

459 Views 5 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  NilsAnd
Professor Kompressor is an inventor. He is excellent at inventing, but the inventions are not always excellent.

This first collection of Professor Kompressor stories (on special offer to celebrate the New Year!) recalls a number of episodes from his inventing career. The ideas may seem sound, and perhaps quite original, but they don't always work out as intended. In fact, they very rarely do. It was perhaps predictable that an invisibility cloak would be easily mislaid, but who could have guessed that tinkering with an old Volkswagen Beetle would be so dangerous? There is plenty of evidence that Professor Kompressor is a genius, but this does not in anyway prevent him from accidents and mishaps.

This book is aimed a children (age 7-11) and is intended to inspire developing minds. The Professor is a fictional character and the adventures are completely made up. Yet, the various episodes draw on ideas from science and the modern world. They aim to show that you can have a lot of fun with science and technology, especially if you allow for a little bit of creative mis-interpretation.

What the readers say:

"The best professor ever!"

"A well told story that will make you laugh."

"The story line makes young ones think, encourages them to believe in themselves and their ideas more, and is good fun too!"

Welcome to KindleBoards, and congratulations on the book! :)

This is just a friendly reminder that KindleBoards is a Readers and Kindle Fan forum. Authors are always welcome to post anywhere but, as you browse the 'boards, please keep in mind that self-promotion, of any sort, is ONLY allowed here in the Book Bazaar.

A brief recap of our rules follows: (Note that this doesn't mean you've done anything wrong; we just want you to have a ready reference, so post this note in every thread. :) )

--Please bookmark this thread (using your browser's bookmark/favorite function) so you can update it as we ask that authors have only one thread per book and add to it when there is more information. You may start a separate thread for each book (or you may have one thread per series of books, or one thread for all of your books, it's your choice).

--We invite you to use your book cover as your avatar and have links to your book and website in your signature. Instructions are posted here

--While you may respond to member posts to your thread at any time, you may only bump your thread (back-to-back posts by you) once every seven days. Once you've responded to a member, that resets the clock to zero and you must wait seven days to post, unless another member posts before then.

--We ask that Amazon reviews not be repeated here as they are easy to find at your book link. Also, full reviews from other sites should not be posted here, but you may post a short blurb and a link to the full review instead.

--Although self-promotion is limited to the Book Bazaar, our most successful authors have found the best way to promote their books is to be as active throughout KindleBoards as time allows. This is your target audience--book lovers with Kindles! Please note that putting link information in the body of your posts outside the Book Bazaar constitutes self promotion; please leave your links for your profile signature that will automatically appear on each post. For information on more ways to promote here on KindleBoards, be sure to check out this thread:

New review for the Professor on Amazon.co.uk:

"Not enough details to recreate the inventions!" 5*

Response:

Unfortunately, the inventions appear to be held up at the patent office, so it is difficult to provide more details.

This book has been freshly edited and is currently pricematched by Amazon! At a cost of less than half a cup of coffee, you'll get a bit of light entertainment. And... you might learn some science as well. Seems like a fair deal to me.

Haven't posted about this book for a looooooong time, but this doesn't make it any less entertaining. I mean, the more than 5,000 that have downloaded it can hardly be wrong, can they? If you think they are, then fair enough, but maybe this podcast will convince you otherwise...
