The screen has been damaged. Can't be fixed. Contact Amazon Kindle Support . . . .they will send a replacement. Yes. Even to Korea. It's still under warranty. Contact them. Send a copy of the picture. Ask for a replacement.

I get that it was bought at Target . . . but it's still within Amazon's one year warranty. . . I'd try with them first. . . . .

I bought my Kindle at Target & the first one had problems. I called KCS & they did offer to replace it but told me I would most likely get a refurb because I did not buy from Amazon. So they will replace it, you might get a refurb though.

Amazon's usual policy is to replace it with a new unit if it's within the first 30 days. After all, you could simply return it and rebuy it during that time. After 30 days, they routinely replace it with a refurbished unit unless there are none available.
