Just got an email from Amazon, the ETA for my Paperwhite, previously February 5, is now....

January 21, next Monday! ;D ;D ;D

Anyone feels like joining me for a virtual toast?

Update: payment has been claimed, looking forward to getting a serial number. :)

Congrats, I bought mine in a retail store when they became available early.  Not as dramatic as being on KindleWatch, but more immediately gratifying!

I would have liked to do the same (I'm all for immediate gratification) but over here the Paperwhite isn't available in stores yet, there was a nation-wide PW draught.

Not yet, Betsy. Hopefully later today.

UPDATE: It has been sent and will be here tomorrow, hooray!

Thank you everybody!

It's here and it's perfect!!!

No colored shadows anywhere at all, no matter the light level. Perfectly readable in total darkness with the light set as 1, I don't think I'll ever use it at a setting higher than 3 in the dark.

To be really nitpicky, there is a dust speck, but it is at the bottom of the screen, right where it goes into the frame, after a couple of minutes reading I had to actively look for it to 'see' it again.

Happy, happy!

Thank you Betsy and Hamerfan, I liked both my previous Kindles very much, but I've fallen in love with the Paperwhite in all of five minutes, it's magnificent. ;D

Just more sensitive to light, I suspect. For me driving at night is a nightmare, the lights of the cars coming the other way almost blind me.
