As most of us authors know when we start out, it takes a while to gain sales in the US market, let alone the UK market.

Last month I was happy when I received 2 sales from the UK market (since I didn't even know how to market there - still figuring out US!)

I opened my KDP sales reports for this month (for only the 20th time today, I promise ;D) and there it was, a sale from "The Girl in the Coffee Shop."

Now that is another small victory I can hang on to.

Even though that only makes 3 in the UK for the last thirty days, it makes me happy.

So today is "Hug a Brit Day!" Now if only I could find one out here. Hmmm.

When I get to 1,000 sales I will declare it, Hug a Yank Day!

Congrats!  ;D

I will happily hug a Brit if any of the following are available:

-Colin Firth
-Daniel Craig
-Ewan MacGregor

;D

(and I know what you mean, sold 5 UK copies in the last 2 weeks after only 1 in the first two months!  )

Haha! I'll settle for those if Jude Law is unavailable.

My book has only been out for 9 days, but I got a UK sale also. I was really excited. I hope I get some more soon. Good luck to you all and to all the unsuspecting Brits who will no doubt be assaulted soon.

My fellow Britons:

Defend yourselves.

Strange Americans are coming to... hug us.

I'm not sure what that means but I suspect it doesn't involve tea and meeting our mothers.

We must mount a stout defence! Barricade the Atlantic at once! Use unsold copies of Harry Potter if you must!

;D

(although if any Americans are willing to buy my book, I may make an exception)

It's good to have a resident Brit. on hand for just such emergencies. I married one.
I'll give him a big hug to celebrate when I see him for lunch. Does anyone want proxy hugs? I can make a list.

Congrats.  I've sold a grand total of 1 in the fabled land of the Mighty Brits.

Two things:

1) I'm not a Yank.  I'm from Texas.  Not a yankee.  Not that there's anything wrong with being a yankee.  My wife is a yankee.  But I'm not.

2) The Brit I want to hug is Kate Beckinsale.  'Nough said, right?  Can you arrange that?

Congrats again.

I knew a Southerner would have an issue with that! But "Hug a Yank" was more fun to write than "Hug a Yank, Southern Belle, Western Gunslinger, a Wicked Bostonian or a Funny Fargoan, etc., etc. ;D
