I named by K1 ( a boy) Zeus :) and my K2 (a girl) Athena :)

Zeus in Greek mythology is the king of the gods, the ruler of Mount Olympus, and god of the sky and thunder.

and

Athena, the shrewd companion of heroes, became the goddess of wisdom, as philosophy became applied to cult in the later fifth century.

Athena is most commonly described as the daughter of Zeus. It is also often implied that she is his first-born child, which accords her special status: the weapons for which she is so famous are weapons she and he share exclusively, including the thunderbolt.

I thought this was fitting :)

Love it!
As a Kindle worshiper myself, naming them after gods is appropriate.

Wonderful names!!!

Lol, my desktop computer is Athena, my laptop is Minerva (Roman version of Athena) and my Kindle 2 is Calliope, the Greek Muse of Epic Poetry.

Though my computers are actually named after characters from Robert A. Heinlein books, and I've been thinking about re-naming the Laptop to Mike (Mycroft, Holmes IV, another sentient computer from The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, also by Heinlein) and then naming my Kindle 2 Minerva...but I seem to personify my machines as female, so I guess I'll stick with what I have.

Oh, crap, I could name her Dora, or Gay Deceiver (a sentient ship and a sentient air car, respectively, and Gay Deceiver also houses an N-Dimensional Continua Device, which transports her and her passengers to places like Oz, Wonderland, Barsoom, and lots of other "fictional" places.)

Ok, her name is now Gay Deceiver. Talked myself right into it, I did!
Kinda Wierd, but people name all kinds of things

lol cheerio...at 1st I wasn't sure about naming my Kindles, but after having my K2 for a bit I realized she needed a name and then when my K1 joined me last week I said ok he needs a name...and as they say the rest is history. :)
See.  This naming electronics is yet another thing this board has led me to.  (In addition to dressing electronic things.)  ;)  My electronic gadgets and I have always had a strictly business relationship -- mainly because I don't understand them, so I appreciate them if they just do what I want them to with as little trouble as possible.  If they do give me trouble, and it can be fixed by pressing "restart," well..then I forgive them.  I haven't named my Kindle 2 yet, but I'm getting closer and closer.  The couple of names that have popped into my mind (Restart or Gizmo) just don't seem respectful enough.

I like the names you chose.  You've got me thinking on a whole other level.  My Kindle probably thanks you, too.  :)
