I ordered my Kindle back on 1/21 and have always had a March 4-13 delivery window. I called Kindle Support after the 2/09 Amazon press conference was announced and expressed my concern over wanting a choice if K2 was announced and asked whether or not I should cancel my order and re-order at another time. I was told that there was no "official announcement," but if it were them, they would definitely *not* cancel the order, would keep my place in line, and assured me I would be VERY happy that I did! I was also told my Kindle would not ship before February 26 and the window of shipping from Amazon from 2/26 - 3/10, almost always closer to 2/26. I'm glad I kept my place in line. If something is announced at the press conference, it gives me plenty of time to adjust my order. I confirmed all these dates again today with Kindle Support, so I'm just waiting on the press conference to see if anything is up.

That is good news.  I think CS was telling you as much as they could between the lines, without actually saying something.  I find it promising that they say we'll be "very" happy.  I'm still hoping my M-Edge cover and light, and DecalGirl skin will be usable.  If the form factor changed and rendered them useless to me (presuming we only get v2 Kindles) the v2 would have to read PDFs are something equally outstanding for me not to feel slighted.

My intuition tells me that if Amazon comes out with a K2, that the K1 will still be available.....just like with iPods.
