K3 screensaver is stuck on..help!

I have a K3. Received new as a gift in Dec. No trauma to the screen that I know of. There is now a strip about 1/2 wide extending approx half way down the screen of the screen saver  that I can not get to go away. Also the top half of the screen where this is and all the way across is grainy and difficult to read. Sliding the power button doesn't make it go away only adds another screen saver to the background with this in the foreground. Any ideas?
