Someone please help.  I have followed the manual instructions to the T but it is not working.  I want to change the name on my device.  I've tried the following:

1.  Home
2.  Menue
3.  Settings
4.  Edit Name
5.  Type New Name
6.  Highlight and press Submit

I thought maybe this would not work in sleep mode so I turned it off and on again, still nothing.  All other features work fine.      Thank you for any help you can give.

From your Home screen,
click menu
select settings
the second selection will let you change your Kindle's name

edit:  after you type your new name, use the joystick to move to the right so that the Submit is highlighted, then click

If you are on your computer, you can also just go to your Amazon account and change the name there (choose, "Manage my Kindle") and then turn the Whispernet on and the name will change on your Kindle.

I did it the way Leslie mentioned and it worked like a charm. . . .

There is a good chance it will only work from the K2 if you have whispernet turned on.

Even if you make the change on the web site, you would still need to turn whispernet on before the change showed up on your K2.
