There have been a few Kindle 2 tear-downs out there, but this one is particularly well-documented. For the very adventuresome, you can take apart your own and see what lurks beneath the surface...

Nice to know that the battery isn't soldered in.
I guess if you wanted to, you could replace the battery if you were careful. It doesn't look too hard, if one took their time.

I've never had a problem taking things apart, i'm quite good at it. It's the putting it back together that always gets me..
The left over pieces? Oops! How did that break? I know I put it back just like it was.
Which particular problem do you have? I use a combination of all.
When I was a kid, I always used to "tear-down" my toys ;), not as gently as this guy, I mostly used to use hammers and what not  ;D
More Kindle Porn, ME and I may never recover from seeing K2 that way.  ;D
Like one of my co-workers likes to say, "Don't force it, get a bigger hammer!"
