It will be interesting to see how well the paperwhite flies in Canada.  My concern is that it is just a little too late in the release in Canada.  In my case, my Nexus7 was only slightly more in cost and does so much more with 16GB.  I got it when the paperwhite was not available to Canadians.  So many more functions albeit shorter battery life but it can charge while I'm sleeping. Back lit displays do not bother my eyes.  I would have bought a paperwhite last year but no longer see the advantage of owning one.  (I have several kindles - DX, keyboard and Touch)
