Let's face it, the printed book as we know it today has been evolving for several hundred years now. It works very well and people grew up on it. The Kindle (and other ereaders) are an evolutionary step. Large one granted, but still evolutionary. Many people are not happy with change. What always amazes me, are the folks who have never seen one, much less held one, dismiss it outright.
Because of the Kindle, books will continue to become cheaper. Eventually, the publishers will have to find another reason to exist. Because the high cost entry in the book printing market will go away.
