Kindle Countdown in Both US and UK

I set up my first Countdown in the US only, but now I'm wondering if there's any reason to not set up the UK one, too? Are there restrictions or consequences to do, or not do, both? Can I still add the UK one as long as it's the same dates?

Thanks!

I just finished a simultaneous countdown in both US and UK. There's no reason not to schedule both, particularly if you're running mailings at the same time. The dates don't have to be identical but likely you want them to be close. The rules limiting the timing are the same and there is only one KDP Select enrollment period. Some minor details of the Amazon site vary between UK and US -- it's harder to find the countdown deals list in the UK and you can't (easily) see the pricing info when you access the UK site from the US. On the other hand, it's easier to get on a bestseller list in the UK. In the US, I had a spike of sales at the beginning, but in the UK, it was at the end after a handful of sales put the book onto a category list.
Thank you for your reply!

I ended up setting both US and UK for the same time frame. Thanks for the details about the UK Countdown, it's very good info going into the first one.

Congrats on your results, and making it onto a bestseller list!

How do you access the controls for the UK site to set up the countdown?
Sorry if that's a dumb question, and thanks for any input.
The same KDP dashboard as for the US. From Bookshelf, select "Promote and Advertise" then set them both up. US and UK are the only choices -- the rest of the planet doesn't get any deals.

Excellent!
Thanks!
Sorry for the rest of the planet, but I'll make do. :)
