Julie, you must be a fearsome woman in role-play situations (management ones, y'understand!)  ;)

Dalya/Betsy, I see an emoticon above for 'rolls eyes', can we have one for this new book, 'rolls eye'?

Thanks in advance

In fitting with the current trends, the Cyclops book wouldn't be called anything clever that matches the content, but simply a sad, one-word title. I'm thinking "Sorrow."

Okay, so the Cyclops-romance "I only have eye for you" line was something I came up with about a year ago, when I created a novelty twitter account pretending to be a literary agent, and acted like a royal asshat for about three weeks.

I had to put the account down because doe-eyed writers, oblivious of the parody statement, kept tweet-friending me and asking me about submissions, and I should not every be put in a position of influence.

Julie, you took this whole topic scenario far too seriously.  However, that childhood description of you?  It's kind of scary....because that description would have fit me as a child.  I was the one who, thirty seconds before the bell, would remind the teacher he/she had forgotten to assign homework.

Although quite the party pooper answer, it is somewhat amusing.

Because self-publishing is not the magic money maker people pretend it is, and trade authors who are making money and treated well don't wake up one day en masse and think "Gee, I want to self publish now." Something would trigger that exodus. If I don't identify the problem, I can't fix it.

Third, I'll go out and look at some indie authors who already have ebooks out and see about buying print rights for their backlist to get some stuff out the door quickly while waiting on my editors to produce new material. In particular, authors with a successful series because hardcover omnibus collector's editions would be highly profitable

It has to be a trilogy these days. I'd title Book 1 "Eye Love You," Book 2 "Eye Hurt," and Book 3 "Eye Think Not."

Too much?
