Hey, all -

For those who may be interested, another review popped up for In Her Name at suite101.com. ;D

Also, I guess I can rest easy in the knowledge that I'm now an "international" author <ahem>. I happened to find an Italian site where the site's author reviews books - and there's a review of In Her Name!

Of course, Italian doesn't happen to be one of my languages, so I kicked it over to the Google translation service to experience the many joys of machine translation!

Here it is for your evening entertainment:

Synopsis: Book Unbelievable. A mixture of fantasy and science fiction.Humans are at war for years with L'Impero Kreelan. This empire, he attacked without reason, and little is known about these strange aliens.Humanoids and all women. Blue-skinned and strong. War without mercy. Humans are losing on all fronts, nothing can stop the advance of these warriors, but the hope is to be a boy. An orphan of twelve years, a warrior strikes injuring his curiosity. Kidnapped and raised by them, suffer inhuman treatment and learn what it means to be Kreelan. For them, combat and Lionora have everything and every being is one with the empress. It travels in their blood. Reza will grow and become a warrior Prode, find the love ...... but when it asked to cobattee the human rufiuterà and must return one of its similar in exile.

My opinion: There reveals more of the plot, I told you too. The book is divided into three books. The first is beautiful, the second least, the third even less. Certainly the part where vuene told Reza growth of the alien planet is the most beautiful and interesting, the last a little disappointed. the ending leaves many things unexplained. What makes Reza? Why cabbage has done all this casino to come back from head to the side of his wife? Could not help but leave it and convince her to quit the just war? Mystery. The book is beautiful, but I am a bit puzzled at the end.

OH MY GOSH! ROTFLMAO!
Mike, I think you should print that one and frame it.
And just so you know, he's wrong about the ending. Things were wrapped up just fine.
(hard not to do any spoilers here) ;D ;D

"Humanoids and all women. Blue-skinned and strong."
You betcha. Nothing better than blue-skinned, strong women warriors able to beat the crap out of anyone and anything!

"Why cabbage has done all this casino to come back from head to the side of his wife?"
WTF?, err, I wonder what that was supposed to be?

Thanks for sharing, that was hilarious! ;D

I love google/babelfish translation. Sometimes I just translate things to see how goofy they sound when you go from English to Japanese, then back to English again. Observe:

"I love google or babelfish translation. Occasionally I when it goes from Japanese exactly from English, stupidity, and how you sound, returning to English for the second time, translate thing in order to see. Observe:"

Why cabbage has done all this casino to come back from head to the side of his wife?
OMG. Is there a cabbage in your book? Really? Anthropomorphized vegetables as casino owners? And here I thought I had a fairly good understanding of the book just from reading the reviews here. Now I'm going to have to start over.

And possibly, make sure the cabbage at the house is not playing internet poker while I'm gone during the day. Or his wife.

(Also, I think this phrase was included in the instructions that came with my new printer. So now I'm going to have to rethink what I had decided that meant in terms of print quality.)

Yeah, I wrote the bloody thing, and *I* certainly don't recall any cabbages or casinos! However, I guess I'll now have to work those elements somehow into the next book. Along with printer instructions for Robin (or maybe your printer instructions included an unexpected salad recipe?)... ;D

I have to confess, I really have no particular interest in the book, but I plan to watch the thread(s) just to read Robin's commentary. Robin, you are a crackup!! ;D
