As an editor, writer, and published author, I'm currently immersed in the publishing industry. More importantly, I'm a dedicated and hard-working individual who strives for perfection. In the more than five years I've been working as a manuscript editor for both publishers and individual authors, I've met every single deadline with quality work that goes beyond the clients' expectations. My goal has always been to help every author and client put out a product of excellence.

I have a BA in Journalism, a multi-subject teaching credential, and 10+ years' experience in general editing as well as more than 4 years in the publishing industry.

CLIENTS: Waterhouse Press, Formatting Fairies, Marie Force's Jack's House, Radish Fiction, and indie authors.

Copy Edit = .0065-.008 per word (message me to discuss)

Final Proof = .004 per word

Final Proof manuscripts must have been seen by copy editor already. I will need to see a couple of sample chapters to determine that. If I get a book for final proof and feel the errors indicate it has not been edited (or the edit was poor), I'll need to charge a middle fee of .0045 per word. In this case I would send the manuscript back with first chapter or two edited to show errors beyond final proof before moving forward.

Content/Development = .006-.008 per word

Content/Development is all about the big picture. This edit focuses on the content of your story, character development, focus, weight, pacing, flow, and anything else I feel would improve the overall read of your book. You'll receive some notes throughout the manuscript and an outlined report of the above mentioned areas at the end.

Book Synopsis (writing assistance/editing) $30

I accept payment by check or paypal.

Greetings, liafairchild! You're welcome to promote your business and website here in the Writers' Cafe.

Now that you have an official thread, you'll want to add your listing to our Yellow Pages, found here: The listing is free to KB members and is completely self-service; you can add and edit your listing from the page. More information on our Yellow Pages listing can be found here.

In your thread here, we ask that the same basic rules be followed as we have for authors in the Book Bazaar: you may have this one thread about your service and must post to it rather than start a new thread each time. New threads about the service will be removed. Please bookmark this thread so that you can find it again when you want to post.

You may not make back-to-back posts to the thread within seven days. If someone responds (as I'm doing with this post), you may reply to them, but otherwise you must wait seven days. Any pattern of posting designed to artificially bump your thread to the top of the forum is prohibited. Please note that very short or (one- or two-word) posts with no meaningful information are discouraged and may be deleted at the moderators' discretion.

Lastly, your posts and images will need to meet our "forum decorum" guidelines, which is the case for every member.

You may find that members ask searching questions -- about how your service works, for example, or what they will get for their money, or whether your service adheres to Amazon's terms of service. Such "vetting" is a common here and can be rigorous.

Note that members are allowed to provide civil and honest feedback about your service in this thread. That includes sharing both positive and negative experiences/interactions they've had with you or your service. You may respond to criticism in a civil manner, but name-calling, badgering, accusations of lying, and other breaches of forum decorum can lead to loss of vendor posting privileges.

Any and all disputes between you and your clients should be handled off-site.

KBoards Moderator

Note that this welcome does not constitute an endorsement or vetting of a service by KBoards. Members should do due diligence when considering using a service.

Vendor threads are permitted in the Writers' Cafe not only as a form of advertising that benefits vendors but also to provide one location where reviews of vendors can be concentrated and more easily brought to the attention of the whole community. For this reason, we make a reasonable attempt to maintain threads even for vendors with whom multiple customers report negative experiences.

Wow, it's been quite some time since I've been here. Mostly because my schedule has been quite full and authors are booking 2-4 months in advance. I wanted to make sure I updated this profile and changed my email as I have a new one from the original thread. I apologize if you tried to reach me and I didn't respond. My new email is [email protected].
As I mentioned in my original post, I have worked with authors for five years but have more than 10 years experience in general editing. I'm also a published author and have been writing books for ten years.
Feel free to reach out here or via email or Facebook and I'd be happy to do a free sample. I edit most genres but romance is my specialty.
