Does anyone know if a generic micro-USB cable can be used with the Kindle 2? I was thinking of getting a cheap one off of Amazon, but wanted to know if anyone experienced any issues with non-Amazon Kindle cables.

Amazon currently has one for less than $7: http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Unlimited-Meter-Ferrites-USB127002M/dp/B000UNNV5S/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1237297424&sr=8-2

I know that the Amazon cable is selling for $15 (which is pretty reasonable), but just curious if anyone has tried out generic cables.

I don't know a ton about electronics but it seems to me that if the voltage/amperage/wattage etc on the charger matches the specs for the Kindle you should be o.k.

I tried using the amazon micro usb to charge my phone and my phone gave a message that the charger was not recommended for my phone.  I thought it would be generic for all of my devices, but now I have to pay attention to the charger details.
