I'll have to check this out.
Thanks Steve - you have some seriously great SciFi covers! I love studying covers when I'm not designing them...and I very much appreciate the work of other artists. I believe in the spirit of co-operation rather than survival of the fittest competition....Steve Vernon said:I'll have to check this out.
I love your "It's in his Kiss" cover - it's light, clean and perfect for a light-hearted romantic story. Thank you for appreciating my site.Caitie Quinn said:Oh man! I'd LOVE to enter. This looks like so much fun.... but my book came out 2 days too soon and I miss the "last week of December" cut off date
I'm breezing through reading your articles - great site!
Thank you - if you are serious please send a copy of the cover to me - approx. 600x900 pixels - to: [email protected] (this address is especially for the cover awards - my other one is for design customers)...glutton said:I hereby submit my Iron Bloom cover by Ruecole for the 'January 2013's Best Indy Novel Cover Featuring A Scarred Up 200+ Pound Beast Of A Heroine' award.
Any challengers?
Err... I was kind of making a joke related to my other thread, but I could enter it, I'd have to ask Rachel for permission though - Rachel if you read this thread can you give us a thumbs up or thumbs down? If she doesn't see it I'll email her tomorrow or so.Melody Simmons said:Thank you - if you are serious please send a copy of the cover to me - approx. 600x900 pixels - to: [email protected] (this address is especially for the cover awards - my other one is for design customers)...
Thank you for the entry...it's an amazing original piece of art. Well - the event helps me to keep on top of fashionable trends in covers. I would love to choose a final winner myself, but I was accused of being biased, so now I am grateful to the brave souls who agree to be my guest judges. I also don't enter my own covers for the event...there aren't too many cover awards competitions out there, and the one other main one that I know of always chooses the more literary type of cover or very arty rendered and abstract ones. I believe it is run by someone who does not like faces on a cover. I tend to get more romance entries...Plus I invite all sorts of people as guest judges - from marketing experts to designers to authors to readers...to ensure a wide variety in style and taste. Personally I am not in favour of the view that there is only one clear-cut recipe that applies to all covers. A lot depends on the genre.John Daulton said:Cool, fun, and, if we are being honest, useful to both parties. Clever idea. I've sent my new one off to you.
