My own little milstone thread

For the first time EVER, one of my novels sold more than 1000 books in one month.

I've been more of steady seller than a top seller. Each of my historical novels pretty consistently sell between 250 and 350 books a month which at their price adds up nicely. The fantasies were always more... just kind of sitting there, but since we enjoy writing them, I ignored the "switch categories" advice.

So I did nothing particular to promote The Shadow Ryana although I think it has an unusually nice cover. I have no clue how it ended up on the Hot New Release list last month (except that apparently for some mysterious reason Amazon gave it a push in emails) and consistently in the Top 100 for both fantasies subcategories. And it's kind of dragged the other fantasies up with it.

Just saying that because you don't sell at first doesn't mean you won't eventually. ;)

Congratulations!  :)
Congratulations! I'm glad to see the fantasy doing better. :)
That's fantastic! And totally out of the blue. I love that.
Congrats! That's awesome! I'm sitting here excited that one of my books sold 80 copies this month. I can't imagine 1000. Way to go!
Congratulations. I'm always encouraged by Writer's Café success stories.
love hearing this! so glad for you, and it is a nice cover.
Congrats! It is a very striking cover, really pops.

Seriously, out of the blue. I always thought our fantasies should sell. Mostly they get good reviews but... they just didn't.

And then suddenly this one did. It's still not Top 100 overall or anything like that, but I don't think it has ever been out of the Top 100 Epic Fantasy category. So move over GRR Martin. ;) (j/k fat chance lol)
Hey, modwitch has a book ahead of GRRM on the Fantasy Popularity list right now. You never know :)

Hoping for Blood Duty to start doing well since that bears a cover from our mutual cover designer, Ruecole. ;)

The Shadow Ryana cover is also a Ruecole design so I highly recommend her! And Blood Duty is doing substantially better than it was. :)
Congratulations, it's true that it has a great cover.

Oh wait right, I do remember seeing it on her site and yes, she is a very good designer. Although it was the Blood Duty cover that inspired me to seek out her services hence my remembering it better. I guess you probably missed my goofy thread calling you out lol...

Oops. Sorry, I did miss that. I've been trying to spend more time writing and less time here. :D

ETA: It is seriously difficult to find cover designs where the woman on the cover looks like she is thinking about hurting someone (and knows how) rather than worrying about breaking a fingernail. She did a great job on that.
Nice, congrats!!!
