For the first time EVER, one of my novels sold more than 1000 books in one month.
I've been more of steady seller than a top seller. Each of my historical novels pretty consistently sell between 250 and 350 books a month which at their price adds up nicely. The fantasies were always more... just kind of sitting there, but since we enjoy writing them, I ignored the "switch categories" advice.
So I did nothing particular to promote The Shadow Ryana although I think it has an unusually nice cover. I have no clue how it ended up on the Hot New Release list last month (except that apparently for some mysterious reason Amazon gave it a push in emails) and consistently in the Top 100 for both fantasies subcategories. And it's kind of dragged the other fantasies up with it.
Just saying that because you don't sell at first doesn't mean you won't eventually.
