Hello to all, and thanks for making these boards such a pleasure to explore.

Namaste is my favorite greeting because it's so respectful of personal space: joined palms, a slight bow, and the simple spoken word acknowledging another's spiritual essence. Il Refugio is where I live, quietly among the trees.

Like quite a few others here, I'm a writer. My fantasy duology WYSARD and LORD BROTHER has been listed at Amazon for some time in paperback, and has been newly made available in Kindle format.

It's a wonderful surprise to find so many fans of the tree-free written word. I look forward to owning a Kindle as soon as possible and being able to enjoy what has to be the incredible thrilll of fitting an entire library into a single hand. This really *is* the future.

With thanks,

CK

The welcome I've received has buffed my heart to a glow. Many, many thanks.

I'm still learning to negotiate the interface here, so this single reply is meant to address you all--ogie, sherylb, Vegas, Kind, intinst, and Angela. :)

sherylb, I'm delighted you're checking out the WYSARD sample and hope you'll enjoy it. Answering your question, I very recently splurged on a new laptop (a stunning oriental scarlet Dell Vostro 2510), so fiscal constraints will delay getting my eager hands on a Kindle until summer. For now, I'm e-reading via Project Gutenberg, Gallica, Bartleby, etc.

Warm regards to everyone,

CK

Hi CK - so nice to have another author join us.  In the Book Klub we have a thread listing authors so hopefully Leslie will see your posting and add you to our list.  We have other authors without kindles, but they don't hold out too long.

Looking forward to getting your books.

We have lots and lots of folks here who are dying to travel to Italy - set up a B&B and betcha you can get a K really fast!  Who knows maybe someone can bring it for you.

Namaste and welcome.  You will like it here, this is a refuge from the usual hassles, most of the time.  The release of the Kindle 2 has made it a bit nuts tight now.  It will settle down in a few days.

How long have you practiced yoga?

It's great to feel welcomed, Anju. I'll be posting over at the Book Klub once I get a little more familiar with the interface here.

I hope you'll enjoy them! Thank you so much for your interest.

Travels in Italy (which included some very fun B&Bs) inspired the name for my home. Since a refugio is a simple hut meant for overnight shelter during mountain treks, and I live in a wooden house on a pretty steep hill here in the Southern states, it just felt right. Eventually I hope to turn all those diary entries from Venice, Florence, Rome, etc. into a Kindlebook...and I'll be buying a Kindle asap :)

I'm far, very far, from being a yogini, but I deeply admire the culture of the East, which has always been an inspiration. When I got back from Japan this summer, I put together a little shrine of sorts that I describe in my Amazon blog.

Please forgive the form of this reply...as I've noted elsewhere, I'm still grappling with the format!

Not to worry, if you put your responses after the quote they will show up better. I'm new to Yoga, I just started after the first of the year. It's nice to have another practitioner around.
