Need help with going from hundreds in sales to thousands

472 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  DidEverythingButThink
Hello All,
I published my first book, "Did Everything But Think", in June and have sold roughly 400 books (print and e-book). While I am certainly pleased with these results, I want to make it to 1,000 sales. What's sort of tips do you have for breaking the 1,000 sales barrier? I started a blog/website (http://moneyetiquette.com) about 3 months ago and its growing at a decent pace. I conduct bimonthly financial seminars and plan to do more next year. I also have a Facebook book page, Twitter, Goodreads and use other social media outlets. Do I just need to have more patience or do you have some other suggestions to help me with this issue?

Thanks in advance.

I've had good sucuess with my non-fiction works with the following:

- Place banner ads on blog/forum websites that cover the topic of your work
- Write guest posts on those same blogs, maybe even include excerpts from the book
- Eventually, have said blogs review your book
- Make a video trailer with strong keywords...Tweet and FB about the trailer
- Try and become a guest on local radio shows (there are a bunch of financial topic radio shows here in Houston)
- Try and become a guest on podcasts that cover your topic
- Find financial forums and become a member. Don't try and push your book in the forum, but post wisely and become known as an "expert"
- Write more books...a lot more

Thanks Joe,
I am woking on several follow ups and hope to release them early next year. I've been fortunate enought to be a guest on several local radio shows, but maybe I should try other markets too. I havent tried banner ads yet, so I will give it a shot. I also could really step up my guest blogging efforts. Thanks again for the advice.
