Have you all been over to your book pages at B&N? Looks like a new look! The also boughts are on every page I saw, the ability to randomly click stars seems to be gone and there are non B&N ads in place.
I don't know how this will affect anything, but found it interesting. Hopefully, the also boughts will have a postive effect. :)

I'm not 100% sold on the new look, though there do seem to be some nice features.

At least you can browse for erotica again. For a while, that category was gone. I wish they'd give my books also boughts. I'm guessing they're intentionally leaving them off PubIt erotic titles :(

Changing the subject. Thats a killer cover.

Wait... do you mean people have to leave a review now to affect the star rating?

ETA: Also, in some (not all) cases, my descriptions seem to have lost all their paragraphing, so that they're a solid block of text. I need to go fix the ones that are messed up.

"Ooh! I've got the chicken too! But actually, it's an ad for Groupon. The other choice appears to be an online university and a children's clothing store."

Thought experiment:

Suppose they put the chicken on 1,000 book pages and found some books result in more chicken clicks, and some less chicken clicks. Maybe two books each get 500 views and each sells 100 books, but one gets 200 chicken clicks, and the other gets three. Will they push the book that sells more chicken?

The chicken is on the book page now. So when will the little cluckers find their way into the book itself?

With the introduction of their newest Nook (B&W) and with other changes they are making I am expecting them to improve their market share. B&N is beginning to make strides...
The announcement of the new Nook got my mom to looking for an eReader. I think she is going to go with the new Nook, but she was looking at Kindle too. Every time something new like this comes along I think it will push a few more people over the edge (in a good for us way). :)
