I put one of my books on smashwords and put a price of zero on it.  Eventually Amazon will lower the price on the same book to zero.  Hopefully people will download the free book and then start buying some of my other novels.

However, is there a way that I can alert Amazon that the price is free at Smashbooks so they will go ahead and change the price to zero?  Otherwise it might take weeks for Smashbooks to actually notify Amazon of the lower price.

To lower the price of my book, I pressed the: tell us about a lower price? link, but since I'm the author of the book, I doubt that it would work.

When I lowered my book to $1.99 on B&N and Smashwords, I recruied some friends to report the lower price to Amazon, using the "tell us about a lower price" link. It took 4 days, but they price matched, and now I have that beautiful slash through the $2.99 to show it's on sale.
