I've just published my first steamy romance under a pseudonym. My alter ego is Mitzi Lang, and she's a a quiet, unassuming house mouse who lives vicariously through the characters in her books. Through them, she's known love, lust, betrayal, forgiveness, and family drama. Under her real name, she's a multi-published author in the women's fiction/romance genre. Here's a brief summary of Oh, Mr. Boss!

The attraction was there at the start, but neither knew it. Kit, wealthy heir to a chain of department stores, often goes clubbing. Cleo also likes to party, but she's from a working class family on the other side of town. After a night out, Cleo oversleeps and reports for her new job at Kit's store an hour late. Rushing out without makeup or contacts, with her hair severely pinned back, she no longer resembles the flirty Cleo from the club.

Kit scolds her for being late but soon realizes his new hire isn't a woman who can be intimidated easily. Not until he catches her in a lie do both realize they were at the club unknowingly flirting with each other.

This is the moment Kit discovers who his new employee is.

"So now what?" As she turned to face him, her hoodie fell back.

His mouth and eyes grew wide when he saw the explosion of hair that sprang out from under it. "You!" he said, jabbing his fingers through her tousled hair. "Now I remember you. You're the chick who was flirting with me at the club last night."

"You were at the club last night?" Although the events of the previous night were hazy, Cleo vaguely remembered a tall, good-looking dude giving her the once over. If she wasn't so wasted at the time, she might have recognized him sooner.

Kit slipped his arm around Cleo. "Come on, honey, let's go in the water now."

Aware that was her cue to shock everyone with her barely there bikini, Cleo unzipped her cover up and tossed it on her chair. "Okay, let's go."

The look on Kit's face was priceless. 'Uh, sure," he said, taking her hand. "Is that the only bathing suit you brought?" he asked when they were out of earshot.

"Why would I need more than one?" she asked.

"Well, I guess you wouldn't. But why did you pick that one? It's kind of—plain."

"The weather forecast said it was going to be sunny and hot all weekend, and I didn't want to burn all those sensitive areas you like so much. It kind of hurts to be touched there if you know what I mean." She winked.
