I have an old paperwhite displaying the "repair code 2" error. Amazon support tells me it's an update issue, and I should install the latest manually.
When I plug the Kindle into my Mac, the Kindle charges and tries to log on (eventually going back to the error code message), but there is no Kindle drive on my desktop.
Even weirder, when I check under the utility 'System Info', the USB port which the Kindle is plugged into recognises the device, and even gives the serial number. But still no drive on the desktop.
I tried all the USB ports available and different cables, no success.
I use a recent-ish but up-to-date MacBook Pro, I tried an older MacBook Air, even 2 Windows laptops (XP and 7), same issue : the USB port says there's a Kindle plugged in, but no drive to access.
Is there a way I can "force" the Mac to mount the Kindle drive, or is my Kindle corrupted?
