I have the first episode of a YA-ish Post-Apoc/Dark Fantasy serial out. It's YA-ish, but leaning more towards adults that like to read the YA style due to the references inside of it.

I'm also working on a Mystery/Romance serial that is not YA.

I'm stuck between using my same name for both serials, or using a pen name for the second. If I use a pen name for the second, are we still of the understanding that a male writing romance is no bueno?

I'd prefer not to use a pen name, as I'd like all my books under my name for additional sales. Would it be worth it, or do you think the cross-genre, male writing a mystery/romance serial is enough to force me to pen name it?

FWIW, I read romance (well, some genres), and I love to read romances by male authors. Actually, I don't care about the gender of the author, if the cover is good, the blurb sells me, and the story is good enough to make me want to read book 2, or other things the author has written.
