I've been wanting to collaborate with another author for sometime now and just recently I had an idea. Instead of writing something with another author, why not release a book with a few authors. With that in mind I asked a well known author by the name of Tawny Taylor if she'd care to join me in such a venture. She wrote back saying that she'd love to give it a try and that she'd ask a few friends if they would care to join us. My original idea was that we'd release six books in total and have four authors involved. It turned out that the very first person Tawny asked was Selena Kitt and Selena was interested, so we had three almost over night. However, when it came to finding the fourth we hit a dead end. Nobody else seemed to be interested, so we decided to go with just the three of us.

The first book would contain three novels (one a piece) the rest of the books would consist of our short but popular stories and I figured if we were successful we could perhaps write an original short for the sixth. Our first Book is called "Plays Well With Others" the stories are as follows: Selena Kitt's "The Real Mother Goose" Tawny Taylor's "Claim Me" and my own "Hell's Gate."

I figure that it will attract those who are fans of one or more of the authors, in that they'd be curious to see how the other author's stories compare. I hope you at least take a look at the sample to see if it is the kind of book you'd be interested in.

All the best and good book hunting to one and all.

Carl-

Congratulations on the new book!

Please keep in mind that KindleBoards is a Reader and Kindle Fan forum. As such, self-promotion, of any sort, is ONLY allowed in the Book Bazaar. (You haven't done anything wrong, just our standard reminder. :)) Also note, that since your book has multiple authors, you are all considered the same person for bumping purposes, thanks!

A brief recap of our rules follows:

--Please bookmark this thread (using your browser's bookmark/favorite function) so you can update it as we ask that authors have only one thread per book and add to it when there is more information. You may start a separate thread for each book (or you may have one thread per series of books, or one thread for all of your books, it's your choice).

--We invite you to use your book cover as your avatar and have links to your book and website in your signature. Instructions are posted here

--While you may respond to member posts to your thread at any time, you may only bump your thread (back-to-back posts by you) once every seven days. Once you've responded to a member, that resets the clock to zero and you must wait seven days to post, unless another member posts before then. You may modify the latest post to reflect new information.

--We ask that Amazon reviews not be repeated here as they are easy to find at your book link. Also, full reviews from other sites should not be posted here, but you may post a short blurb and a link to the full review instead.

--Although self-promotion is limited to the Book Bazaar, our most successful authors have found the best way to promote their books is to be as active throughout KindleBoards as time allows. This is your target audience--book lovers with Kindles! Please note that putting link information in the body of your posts constitutes self promotion; please leave your links for your profile signature that will automatically appear on each post. For information on more ways to promote here on KindleBoards, be sure to check out this thread:
Authors: KindleBoards Tips & FAQ.

All this, and more, is included in our Forum Decorum: http://www.kboards.com/index.php/topic,36.0.html. Be sure to check it from time to time for the current guidelines and rules.

Oh, and one more thing: be sure to check out the index threads at the top of the Book Bazaar. . . .there are details there about how you can be listed so that our readers can find you.

Thanks for being part of KindleBoards! Feel free to send us a PM if you have any questions.

Honestly, I've been looking for someone to co-write with too, just not found anyone yet.
The thing is Sara, we didn't co-write anything. We all placed an existing novel into the mix and released them in one bundle. Originally we were going to start with four authors, but as explained we couldn't find a fourth. What we intend to do next, if the first one sells well, is place a short existing story from each of us into another bundle. We will do that until we have five books, and if all is going well we might come up with another totally original bundle made up of new stories. That's way down the road though, as we don't know how the first one will be received. I'm not even sure if the other authors would be interested in another author joining us at this stage, but I'll ask them to check out this thread.
