I set up the post how I want it to appear, but as soon as I post, most of the blank lines I leave get stripped out.
It looks terrible, runs separate things into each other, and is very annoying.
Its only just recently started happening. Was this a forum change or is it a bug?

Edit: There we go 2 blank lines removed.

I haven't noticed it as a problem when posting from the quick reply box.

I can put as many blank lines as I want.

:)

It also isn't an issue if I use 'reply' and go to the full reply page.

So I'd say it's something to do with where/how you write up your comments before you post them.

It is weird that it didn't used to happen -- assuming YOU've not changed anything. Will alert our tech support folks.

I dont have the quick reply box, and always use the reply button.
Using Firefox 60.0.1
I dont type it anywhere except in the box. The only time I go outside the box is when assembling a url to use with the image button.
Its like something on my profile changed, but I cant find anything.

Edit: Ok, out of left field, but is it anything to do with my signature? Specifically using series links?

I almost never use the quick reply box ;D but have no problems formatting text on my iPad with as many blank lines as I want... Will test on my PC. You definitely should have the quick reply box--you access it at the bottom of the page--there's a blue bar that says +Quick Reply on it. Tap that. If you don't see it let me know--since if you don't have that, it may be an indicator of a problem you're having with the forum

If you suspect it has something to do with your signature (though I don't think that should be the case, I never say never with computer glitches), a simple fix is to cut the text from your signature, parking it somewhere safe and saving your profile with an empty sig box. See if the problem replicates.

I'll do some testing on my end.

Timothy--

I looked at your signature to see if I noticed anything odd, and I do see that you've bumped up against the 5K limit for signatures. Interestingly, even though (as I view it when looking at your edit profile page), the link for your mailing list, at the end, shows as something like http://ee, the working link appears in your displayed signature. You might try removing that link and see if it solves the problem.

Testing without the signature.
Yes, just noticed the signature maker has been truncated. Could be part of the problem, as in the signature code is probably failing, and while displaying, is mucking up something else.
Anyway, testing.

Looks like it's still happening?

Can you test with a different browser?

That's looking good. So, there's a problem with Firefox. I haven't been able to get to my desktop to test yet to see if it's that version of Firefox in general or something with your specific version. You might try reinstalling Firefox...

I wonder if its an add-on issue?
I'm running Book Report, Fox Clocks (at the top), Amazon Book Research Helper, and Kaspersky's add-on is disabled.

Hmmm....

Remove one of them at a time, then test.

But a reinstall/repair, even if you have the latest version now, would be the next thing to test after that.

Aargh. There's something wrong with formatting when I use my new iMac to post on this forum.
Below, I wrote "This is a test" on one line, then one, two, three, and four all on separate lines. Anyone know what's going on?

This is a testonetwothreefour

More testing, each sentence below on a separate line.
Here is one line of text. Here is another line of text.
I put an empty line between the preceding lines and this one.

It's Firefox. I'm assuming it's related to my switch to Mac (Bill Gates taking revenge). Looks like the same problem Timothy had. I'll do some more experimenting.
