have been trying to upload a cd of mine to kindle since I got it a few days ago with no luck. it is an unprotected cd- can figure out why I cant hear it-- it appears that I uploaded it but it just doesnt show up. does that mean i need to buy it again on a site that has only mp3 files? i thought this album was an mp3 file... totally frustrated.. anyone know how to convert a cd to an mp3 file so it will upload successfully?

Do you have the CD saved on your computer?

If you have a windows machine, won't windows media player convert a cd for you?

Also you can set to import cds in itunes as a few different types of media.  I set mine to mp3 when I am ripping CDs from my collection.  The mp3 should import to the K2 fine.

The files on a CD are in CDA format and are not accessible by a standard disk operating system. To use them on your Kindle you have to “rip” the CD, which actually means copy the file from the CD to a file operating system. You can download free CD rippers from the internet that will save your CD Audio files in various formats including MP-3.
