So I've heard BKnights on Fiverr is a good way to get some easy, cheap promotion on Amazon going, but I wondered has anyone ever submitted a short read? If so, was it successful? I'm thinking of biting the bullet since it's only $5, but I don't know if short stories are allowed for submission or not.

Anyone have other recommendations for promoting a short story besides the usual social media channels?

I have. I put my short story collection of appr. 10,000 words total for free and submitted for bknights to run the second of a three day promotion. I ended up reaching around 800 overall in the free store and the #1 spots in three different subgenres of short reads...

Yes, definitely made my money back on free shorts after free promo ended with BKnights. Also ebooksoda, I made a profit. I noticed Book Gorilla does shorts too, but everything over 10.00 is too much dough for me at the moment. Genre Pulse made me money back, too, but I am out of cash.
