PW first use question

When you open the box can you use the PW immediately or is it better to plug it in and wait for it to fully charge before using it? If immediately is ok is it ok to plug it in and charge concurrently with using it? Thanks.

Amazon makes no recommendation about charging it fully before using it in either the Quick Start Guide, The User's Guide or on their website, and does say it is okay to use while charging. I didn't fully charge mine before using, I just dove right in, and have been very satisfied with my battery life. Go for it, Leo!

Agree with Betsy.

As I recall, mine came about half full. . . .I set it up and used it a while. . .didn't even plug it in. . . . d/l'd a bunch of books -- things I'd bought between order and delivery, and then a few more I knew I wanted to read sooner rather than later.  Plugged it in overnight that night and I've had no problems whatsoever.
I plugged mine in and started using it right away. It wouldn't have mattered what they recommended because I couldn't wait to check it out.

I hear you!

I just dove in. I came from a K3 and skipped through a lot of nice features already, how the heck could I wait.  ;D
I played around, got some books. Then I plugged it in to index and charge overnight.
I'm with the 'dive right in' crowd!

Mine came with enough of a charge to play around with it for the rest of the day and then I put it on charge overnight as I'd downloaded quite a few books and I knew it would need to index. Woke up to a fully charged and fully indexed Kindle.  ;D
