I saw the discount code for Decal girl skins and it made me think of buying several and keeping for Christmas gifts. Then I wondered: Do I need to know which Kindle my sister, niece and brother-in-law have to get correct size? Thanks.

If I understand your question correctly, yes you need to know which kindle they have.  Skins come in a Kindle1 version, a Kindle2 version, and a KindleDX version (as well as versions for Sony, Nook, and others).
