Near the bottom of the Amazon page for my novel, it tells me that "85% buy the item featured on this page."

Does anyone know if that actually mean what it says?

If it does, by my reckoning very few people are actually making it to the page, because I generally sell five or less copies a day. Frustrating, because the (non-friend-and-family) reviews would seem to indicate people who do buy it and read it actually enjoy it.

So does anyone know if the Amazon statement means what it sounds like, that 85% of the people who make it to the product page and buy something end up buying the product?

It's my understanding that it only tracks people who visit your page, and then make a purchase within a certain period of time (I don't recall what that time period is). It does not register the people who visit but don't purchase anything at all.

I don't seem to have this item on my book pages any longer.

Instead they have:

"What Other Items Do Customers Buy After Viewing This Item?"

I don't have the percentage buying my books section. It's gone.

Anyone else?

I can't, for the life of me, figure it out.  Amazon changes things all the time.  I've given up trying to understand anything but the numbers in my KDP report. hahaha

That's true, there is so much information about our books, when all we should be concerned about is if they are selling and kdp will tell us that!

I think it only matters if you visit your own page and then soon thereafter buy someone else's book.
