hmm interesting observation.  my guess is it's pure happenstance with no connection other than it's one of many common names in the US but don't trust me, i don't know jack :)

Jack is both a name use for adventure and used for stupidity, maybe the name Jack has no defined character

I watch Without a Trace and Eureka. I used to watch Young and the Restless. I own all of the movies listed. The rest I found by searching Bing. :D

The website had those plus lots of others including Nursery Rhymes:

The site mentioned that the name Jack is given to both heroes and villians (Jack the Ripper), but in the hero category Jack is usually a commoner. Prince Charming usually gets the name John! :)
